People to People Student Ambassador - Lindsey Rennie - Audition Video
Hello, People to People and my fellow student ambassadors! My name is Lindsey Rennie from Baltimore, Maryland and I am traveling with my People to People delegation on the South Pacific adventure in July to New Zealand and Australia for 17 days. This is my audition video for the 2009 Student Reporter Video Contest. I believe I am the best ambassador because I love to explore and travel the world and meet the intriguing natives of many lands. Also, like People to People, I yearn for world peace. I know that my generation has the vigor and determination required to strive for and attain this peace. I am currently a working journalist and I am pursuing a career in broadcast journalism. Not only would the opportunity to document this amazing trip be a wonderful learning experience for me, it would also be very enjoyable for me. If given the chance, I would work endlessly to document this trip to the best of my abilities. Enjoy my video, and thank you for your consideration!
My rap was inspired by the theme song of the television show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, performed by Will Smith. The lyrics I wrote are as follows:
Now these are the reasons all about why
I’m a great ambassador ready to fly.
And I only have a minute to make it clear
that I’m creative and respectful both abroad and here.
In Catonsville, Maryland, born and raised.
In the classroom is where I spend most of my days.
Studyin’, workin’ hard, learning in school,
you can call me a nerd but I’m really pretty cool.
I love to learn; I have a passion for knowledge.
Halfway through high school and anxious for college.
And I love to travel and explore new lands
gonna circle the globe from Sydney to Cannes.
If anything I can say this trip is rare,
so anxious and excited for July to hit the air!
I’m excited for my stay with a Kiwi family.
