How long does it take for mail from New Zealand to travel to the US and a Package from the US to NZ?

I've recently just bought something from the US and since this is the first time I am buying from another country I was wondering how long it would take for my post to get to the United States and how long it would take for the US package to come to New Zealand.
Airmail/air-freight can take anything from four days to two weeks, it all depends on flight schedules and the customs officers.

Airmail 4-10 days but if it went serface it can take up to 3 months! Mail is about 4-8 days.
